Dr. Jennifer Teitelbaum Palmer

Dr. Jennifer Palmer is an adult psychiatrist offering general psychiatric care to men and women in the greater Baltimore area. She specializes in mood disorders, including major depression and bipolar disorder, and is particularly interested in reproductive-related mood syndromes in women such as post-partum and perimenopausal depression and the treatment of mood disorders during pregnancy.

In addition to longitudinal care, Dr. Palmer offers one-time consultations to patients referred by their psychiatrists for a second opinion or treatment recommendations, for example, in the case of pregnancy or pregnancy planning. Patients must have a treating psychiatrist and records must be faxed at least 2 business days in advance of the scheduled appointment.

Dr. Palmer is a graduate of Wesleyan University and received her medical degree from Yale Medical School. She completed her internship in internal medicine at the University of Maryland and her psychiatry residency at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Palmer completed a post-doctoral fellowship in affective disorders at Johns Hopkins during which she was involved in clinical trials studying bipolar depression and mood disorders in women during pregnancy. She is on the Johns Hopkins psychiatry faculty and sees patients in consultation through the Johns Hopkins Women's Mood Disorders Center. Dr. Palmer is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Maryland Psychiatric Society.
