Dr. Palmer is available to provide consultations at the Women's Mood Disorders Center to women with Medicare or Medical Assistance seeking evaluation of reproductive-related symptoms. Opportunities are also available to participate in clinical reasearch including a prospective study of mood disorders in pregnancy.

For Medicare patients age 65 and older, the Geriatric Psychiatry Program may be a good option for comprehensive care as well as opportunities to participate in research.

Similarly, clinical care and research opportunities are available through the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for patients under 18.

Additional opportunities to participate in mood disorders research exist at Johns Hopkins including studies in genetics.

Peer support and additional resources for patients suffering from mood disorders or other psychiatric conditions can be found at the National Alliance on Mental Illness and the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance.
